The Berliner Wasserbetriebe, together with international partners, have been closely involved in the European research project PROMISCES, addressing the issue of "forever chemicals." In this project, we examined potential hotspots and pathways of PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) in Berlin and developed methods for detecting and removing these persistent chemicals.
